Weightless Required. : Hi.. I'm new to... - Weight Loss Support
Weightless Required.
Hi and welcome, Msealy
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi!! You will get loads of support on this site. I know I did and it does help, just hearing from someone with the same goals/struggles as you, I myself have been trying to lose weight, think other health issues are holding me back but I will get there!
Even if you want to rant after a crap day, there will always be someone on here to chat to you.
I wish you the very best of luck! 🌻
Not sure why you've cut out chicken? Hope you're making sure to get enough protein.
Hello Msealy ☺
Have a look at the links moreless suggested, especially the 12 week plan, and ask if you have any questions ☺ I've successfully lost 3 stones and haven't given up anything.
Best wishes
Anna
When I first joined this site I was not losing any weight either and I was getting a bit stressed. I had always struggled with losing weight because I never ate much and when on a diet I always tried to eat less. I always ate less than my husband but everyone always thought I ate more than him, he was skinny as anything and ate anything he wanted and I was always fatter. A member of the team who I think has left now said to me are you eating enough calories. I told her that my bmi said I should eat around 1400-1800ish calories and I was tending to eat 1200 because I was struggling with this as I have never eaten much. I didn't eat breakfast and tended to have just a sandwich for lunch and then ate my dinner. She told me that this was my problem. If you didn't eat enough calories for your body it starts to think you are trying to starve it and then it automatically turns anything you do eat into body fat before it stores it inside you to ensure that it can keep going for a few days. Fat weighs more than calories do and this is why you are struggling. I found this strange but because I had always struggled I decided to give it a go. I ate more mid range of the calorie allowance they give you and lost weight, so now I am eating more and losing weight which is much better than before. Don't know if this will help you at all but if you are not eating much do try this. By the way, chicken is one of the meats with the least calories and has great protein so I am surprised you have stopped this meat. But it is your choice. Good luck.
Hi. Well done for joining the group. You are now well on the way to success! I cut out the white stuff, bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. Chicken is great for you. I set targets for my regime - don't do diets!- and lose a1lb a week and it's staying off! You can do it. All good fortune to you.
Hello I am new and I am in the same boat. I exercise 2 to 3 times a week and have 2 little ones and quite a physical job but no weight loss and it's really depressing me right now x
