800 cals per day
you are only eating 800 calories per day?
Hi and welcome, Alipadi
Is this a diet of your own making, or one that's been advised by a medical professional? I believe the blood sugar diet works on the same principal, for a limited time only.
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Good luck. It doesn't seem like many calories, hopefully you won't be doing that for long
Every loss will help you in the op. Fitness, strength and flexibility will help as well.
But please watch that you don't eat too little. I think it is okay to shock your body for 2-3 weeks but then you need to up the cals otherwise you will stop loosing weight. Good luck.
What kind of op are you having on your knee. I had both my knee replacements done via epidural injection in my back. So numb from waste down. It's the most preferred option by surgeons now, as it's eliminates totally all the risks of anaesthetic. I am surprised they have not given you that option. The pluses for you are not yuk feelings after anaesthetics and you can get your knee done now. Our weight is only problem when having general anaesthetic, I am 3 to 4st overweight was not an issue with epidural. Hope all goes well with your surgery. X
Forgot to say, it was so easy. They allowed me to take my phone and ear plugs. I played my music. Texted my friends did my face book. I have some video too lol. I'll Tey and rake a still shot from video. Obvious can't see any surgery as big screen in front of your face but awesome experience. I took my ear plugs out and could here everything. They do put a canular in you arm just I case and then they will inject and put you to sleep x
You are a brave woman. I take it that wasn't a knee replacement? 😁 I just had keyhole surgery for a torn miniscus , but I said yes to a full general anaesthetic thanks very much. Was up and home within 3 hours.
I found out on this site that trying to lose weight by eating less actually makes you put weight on instead. Your body thinks you are trying to starve it so turns what you do eat into body fat and fat weighs more than general calories so you do end up putting weight on. I have always eaten barely anything all day by eating a sandwich for lunch and my dinner, it was very rare for me to eat anything else. I was always fatter than my husband who eats anything and everything. I was always the one that looked like I ate more. When I was told this on here I upped my calories to try it for a while and found I started to lose weight by around a pound a week but this is much better than putting on a pound a week so I have stuck to it. Good luck with your journey.
