Looking good
Hi tomtomtomtom. Welcome.
Have you looked at the NHS 12 week weight loss programme? They have some really useful hints, tips and healthy ideas which I'm sure will put you on the right path.
My only advise to you is to try to eat as much natural food as possible. By that I mean no processed food or food that's been mashed up and reinvented into something else. Try to make all your meals from fresh natural ingredients. Just like our Mums did! It does mean a lot more planning and less reaching into the freezer but it's so much better for you in the long run.
Good luck ππΌ
Hi Tom, so sorry to hear of your troubles. Weight wise I think eating 3 meals a day and cutting out puddings and sugary snacks is a good start. Anything you can do to increase your activity levels will also make it easier to lose weight and if you have a bit of company while you exercise, so much the better; I always think a nice regular walk makes me feel better when the weather allows although it's blowing a gale today so I reckon I'll be staying indoors.
LouLou has made some good suggestions; home cooking certainly is better than takeaways, although there are some very healthy calorie counted meals available these days and it helps to start getting used to more appropriate portion sizes without going to the bother of weighing food and counting calories.
Good luck x
Hi and welcome, tom
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Wishing you success Tomtomtomtom - Well done for your first steps, I hope you find encouragement in all the answers you get π
