I know Ade60 a nightmare, am looking at trying the 5-2 way of eating and then maybe I won't feel so restricted, the trouble is I just love my food
Hello Karengail and Ade60 most people on this forum will be able to identify with you.
What ever you decide to do make sure it is sustainable, if you want to keep the weight off it has to be a change for life, not a diet. I have done 5:2, but for me it's not sustainable. The best advice I can give you both is to look at the NHS 12 week plan and to check your BMI on the NHS BMI check site, which will tell you how many calories you should be eating. Although I think most people probably drop that a bit, be aware that if you eat too little you won't loose weight as well as if you eat more. Your body will think you are starving it and hang on to what it has. I used to eat 1300 but have upped it to between 1400 and 1500 and now I appear to be loosing weight more than I did before. I will complete my 4th week tomorrow and to date have lost 61/4 pounds, I hope to loose a pound tomorrow. A lot of us are here for the long haul, it took a long time to put the weight on, it's going to take time to get it off. Read peoples posts on here and look at the pinned posts and topics, there is so much information. This is a great forum and so supportive, there is always somebody about to answer your questions. Good luck to both of you in your weight loss journey.
Great reply, lucigret, I couldn't have said it better myself!
Like moreless said lucigret, great reply and succinctly put. Very plagiarisable
Ade60 you could pop over to the weigh in today and register your starting weight. jopo is hosting today and will be able to tell you if there is room in The Wednesday Wobblers group, it will come up in New feed. You will receive lots of support. If you are trying to work out your BMI go to NHS BMI counter, it tells you step by step what to do and you will be able to see how many calories you should aim to eat. Good luck. Any questions, just ask, somebody will respond
oh ok, thought you were starting back today. Good luck anyway
