Hello Sumeraji and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, but they are quite busy. If you wish to take part Sunday is the quietest day but you are welcome to join any day. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the 'home' page, or at the very bottom (after all the posts) on a mobile.☺
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Without sounding like a negative nancy, but I'm reading it as you want to lose a stone by the beginning of March?
If that is the case, I think perhaps that goal may be a little too steep, maybe.
Generally the advice is to aim for 1-2lbs a week, giving that it is 3.5 weeks till March, that's 4lb a week you'd be aiming for...
In my honest opinion, you will likely be setting yourself up for failure and at the end of the day, disappointment.
Stick with the safer end of 1-2lbs, you'll be much more satisfied reaching smaller goals, step by step, than setting one massive one within a small time limit. Plus, those smaller goals will eventually add up to your larger one.
Weight loss isn't a straight line and definitely not something you can rush, your body will do and react whichever way it wants to, you cannot predict what the scales are going to say from week to week.
I've had weeks where I've stuck to my plan and either maintained or even gained.
Take the time to learn what works for you, there are loads of tips and hints on the site, as Anna61 has pointed you towards. You'll get there eventually, slow and steady wins the race remember, plus means you are more likely to keep it off, as you'll me making lifestyle changes, rather than just dramatic diet changes where you'll put it all back on, once you go back to the way you ate before.
Good luck!
I lost about 1 stone after cutting down on portion sizes (tea plate size) and cutting back on the carbs (I didn't give them up) and increasing my protein intake. Protein fills you up more than carbs. If you've got the will power, then cut out the bad things; pastry, sweets, biscuits, cheese, chocolate. I only allowed myself a snack after a certain time of night. (9p.m.) and distracted myself from food by doing other things (manicure my nails, face pack or exercising). My weight fell off me in 3 weeks
