Hi all having a really bad time getting back on track, Had a bad experience on the 10th with M.S.K spinal unit Went for a check up and review of the MRI scan, didn't expect her to me be pulling my leg one way then another way doing the same to my other leg then my arm then the other arm. I thought I was in a dryer being frown about As I am waiting to have a hip replacement this has set me back with pain and turning to comfort eating. My partner was there and she was disgusted with the way I was treated I no she has got a job to do but they don't under stand what you go through and how much pain you are in

I need my motivation back after set back
Hi burgerking
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience at the spinal unit. I know the pain can be really bad at time and can set you back. I have 2 total knee replacements and when I first started getting fitter I had to do it in small stages. 5-10 minutes a day and work up from there with plenty of rest.
Try to draw a line under the comfort eating and start again tomorrow. Give yourself targets to aim for and when you reach them give yourself a non food reward.
Have a good weekend.

That sounds horrible 😒 It is definitely one of those things that can get you off track. This morning try writing down your reasons for starting this journey in the first place. Do they still apply? Are you still in the right mental/ health frame of mind. If the answer is yes try setting a mini goal for next week that is not to do with weight loss - e.g. I will reduce the amount of crisps I eat. If the answer is no - that actually you need all your positivity and energy to focus on your health that is okay too. Put this aside and come back to it when your pain has lessened. That is okay too. Be kind to yourself 😀
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience 😕 Comfort eating is a tough thing to break. Our brains are sort of hot-wired to eat when we are stressed or upset and it's not easy to overcome this, but it can be done if you look carefully at the cause and try to understand the underlying reasons.
I hope you are in less pain today and feel you can draw a line under it like Rose says, and move forward ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Hi burgerking
Join us for the Happiness Challenge: healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... The daily exercises in actively keeping positive will have you back on track in no time and will make you more resilient to comfort eating. Give it a proper go for just seven days to start with and then see how it goes.
One of the daily participants is also waiting for a hip replacement and had a hard time with all the pain. She says the challenge changed everything and she can now cope much better.
All the best to you!
