There's so many posts on here and it doesn't seem easy or obvious on how to find things relevant to me. Any guidance? Want to use this forum to stay motivated and people do kindly respond but I have to scroll for quite a while (on my phone) to find things similar to my interests. Thanks!

So many posts!
Hi loosingit2017
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
If you take a look at the pinned post "Welcome Newbies" on the right hand side, they are at the bottom if your using a phone that give you links to the nhs 12 week plan and the BMI checker which will work out your daily calorie allowance.
Feel free to join in with any of the challenges which you will also find in the pinned post section.
If you are looking for a particular thing take a look at the "Topic" section.
Have a good week.
Rose
Thanks I've been on here a week now, and looked in pinned posts, got the 12 week NHS plan printed and reading it through regularly. Using myfitnesspal for tracking all my food and Fitbit for my exercise. So that's all good. Just saw it was at 20k members and 40k posts and felt like maybe there can't be a close community on here as just feels overwhelming. I want encouragement and accountability and can give the same back but worried it'll get lost in the ocean of posts. Or maybe it's not like that??
I'll share with you my way of making sense of it all: When I joined a while back I read a lot of posts and if someone seemed like a person I could relate to/learn from/be inspired by, I would "follow" her and recieve an email whenever She would post something.
But now I just read a little bit every day to stay tuned in on and seek advice or ideas about weight loss, to share my own running experiences on the similar running forum and to support my new virtual friends. Yes, it is a kind of friendship that we form here, but whether it gets close or not depends very much on how much you invest of yourself.
Welcome, we are glad to have you!
We are a friendly forum who aim to support each other on all our weight loss journeys. There are a lot of members on the forum with a lot of posts but as PippiRuns wrote you can follow any members that inspire or motivate you.
Any time you need help or support just ask. We encourage each other whining posting or joining in with the challenges.
I am feeling exactly the same since joining 3 days ago. This is the extra to the weight loss programme, it is there if you want it. I am going to concentrate on the topics that catch my eye that I can relate to and quite a few have said about the challenges, so will look at that. If you go on your own site, icon coming up on bar at top of page Heath Unlocked and look at who has replied to your posts. Some people write a lot some write one line, all helpful and providing the support the forum is geared to do. I felt a 'connect' to some more than others, maybe similar age, background, situation or even style of writing. I would not be put out if not everyone I replied to replied back. I now realise it is just not possible.
Good luck. Like your commitment to exercise and getting fit. I will mark you to follow and see how you get on. I am looking to getting a fitbit, my son has one.
Hi loosingit2017. It may seem a bit daunting at first but once you have been on a while you get to see the people who post a lot and reply a lot. You then can build up a band of people to follow if you like what they are saying. If you join in with one of the daily weigh ins then you will soon form a connection with those people who weigh in on the same day. Hope that helps
Hello loosingit2017 ☺
I'm sorry you are finding the forum a bit overwhelming 😕 this is a very busy time of year and we have also had a few changes which are making the forum even busier ☺
I know what you mean about using your phone, it can all seem a little confusing, they didn't have computers when I went to school so I've had to teach myself (with help from the younger generation) lol 😆
I mostly use the 'home' page of the forum (the one with the strawberries at the top ). This shows the posts in the order they were most recently commented on.
I also get a daily email showing all new posts from the previous day that I read through in the morning.
If you are looking for something in particular the 'topics' section is very useful, and also the 'pinned' posts. Their position on the sreen varies depending with different devices. On a laptop top they should be on the right hand side but on phones and tablets they're not always quite so obvious!!! Like you say, you need to scroll right to the end of the posts to find them.
I hope this helps, you will soon get to know your way around ☺ Enjoy the forum, and have a good day ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Hi Yellow Rose I am finding the same. I can't figure out how this forum is organised. I would love to get involved but just can't find my way about. I've tried following posts but then I get the same notifications over and over. I don't want to give up on the forum because I identify with a lot of people but I find it baffling.
Hi loosingit2017 , another way to find posts which are of interest to you, is to use the 'search' facility (top right of screen on my tablet above strawberry picture; & just under strawberries on my phone - click on 'more' to find search). You can search for topics, challenges & other members (but this will also bring results when others have mentioned that person). Hope this helps ☺
