I'm Claire and I will be looking after all you lovely Saturday weigh in people this week.
How has the week been for you so far? Has anyone been struggling and need a little help with food or moral support or just a plan old kick up the jacksy ππ
It's so easy to accidentally put food in mouth without thinking about it - must be hangover from being a baby This week I discovered Skyr, a low fat high protein dairy product from Lidl - great with fresh mango and not too high calorie pudding.
I'll be weighing in on Saturday this week but may have a small loss - I hope (weighed in this morning as decided to begin eating sensibly again from Sunday 1st January).
Ooooo oh a low fat pudding, your my kind of gal to post a hint like that lol. I have one near me so will pop in this week and have a look for it.
Awww it wasn't a lovely visual sight, me shovelling in the Bears head in like a mum who has a secrete stash of toffees and trying to eat them before the kids see you. I'm sure it was eating it with sounds effects as well lol. (I'm trying to write this on the QT as hubby is back home and don't want the tut tut tutty that I've cheated on our diets, especially as I'm making him starve lol.)
I'm also writing in just over a weeks weigh in as I started before Saturday.
Hi Claire, I've always preferred weighing on a Saturday so I'll join you at the end of the week. Sounds like you had a lovely evening and well done for putting the bears body back!
I had a nice tea by accident tonight, was making chilli but accidentally put in passata with basil (didn't realise that's what I'd bought) and ruined it, we don't like basil anyway and mixed with the chilli spices was just disgusting! I'd already put sweet potatoes in to bake and we were hungry so I topped them with microwaved frozen spinach with Philadelphia cheese stirred in and it was yummier than expected so I'd definitely do that again π
Welcome to the "Saturdays" oh don't you wish you were just like the real Saturdays ππ.
Oh no don't you just hate it when you have a plan and it goes to pot. I keep tasting it just by some miracle the taste improves or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself it has. Lucky u had the spuds as a back up plan and you got some tea. Iv never tried cooking with philli, see different meals made with it but never tried them. Think that will be my plan for the next few weeks, make a meal with the philli cheese.
Hi Claire..It's not good when the hunger pains set in. I raided the Xmas store cupboard and found a stollen cake. so will use that for a trifle base .I enjoy making homemade soups .and smoothies. veg and seasonal fruit ideal.had clementines left added with pineapple .also banana grapefruits .all green veg for a detox just blip liquidiser. carrot sweet potato .honeye to taste .cremefrachie just a dollop. leek potato.pea and Ham. add croutons. bacon pieces .
Welcome to the Saturday weigh in with us girlies x
Now I'm wondering why u was raiding the Christmas cupboard, was u empting it, checking dates or just plan old hoping there was something yummy to eat lol. I would be doing the latter ππ. Don't know if it's the thought of just starting a new diet or that we have just got over eating at Christmas that makes me pine for food that is definitely not good for me. It's having the strength to say no to it and I'm getting thereπΌπ».
I love home made soups and love making them but one thing Iv never tried is smoothies, not even shop bought ones. Don't know what it is about them but I can't get my head round adding fruit with veg to make a drink.
Smoothies don't have to have veg. Depending on what you put in them they could have the thickness of an ice-cream milkshake (I.e if made with lots of underripe bananas or ice cream) or could have the texture of an 'orange juice with bits' if made only with watery fruit. But smoothies can be bad as they are an easy way to quickly ingest lots of sugar without the need to digest the structure of the fruit within - its easy to drink more than one small glass.
Hi Claire thanks for starting the weekend weigh-ins! I haven't posted a weigh-in this week cos Monday's got closed and I haven't found any more weigh-ins. Shall I just take this week as a restart?
Of course, you are welcome to join. On Saturday morning, just watch out for the weigh-in thread in the newsfeed and record your weight there.
Check out the Welcome Newbies post in the pinned posts section (to the right of your screen on a pc, bottom on a mobile) - this contains some great info for starting out and navigating your way around the site.
It's important you eat the right amount of calories for you weight and height. Check out your allowance on the NHS BMI calculator as everybody's allowance is very individual.
I'm a newbie and just registered now. I put my start weight in the replies section of weekly weigh in for Saturday. I hope this is right?
I cooked a Chicken Korma recipe from the Hairy Bikers website and it was the first time I discovered how to cook chicken without frying it in a few tbls of olive oil or veg oil. The recipe is for 4 people and 293 cal per portion. Amazing and tasty meal. I'm going to cook it again and adapt it with different spices for other flavours.
Well done at stopping at the chocolate as I would have then raided the biscuit tin, the chocolate box and the crips.
