To tight to do right....

Ok so it's Jan 1st, new year new me and all that...., I've just weighed myself, downloaded week one NHS plan, decided on my weight loss target , and by when...but here's the thing, I've got a fridge and cupboard full of Xmas goodies, and chocolates etc that I've been given, infact right now as I'm typing this I'm finishing a ( started ) bottle of wine from last night, and eating my way through a tube of Pringles . So should I strike while the iron is hot and all that, and bin everything and start my new regime right now, or shall I just chomp my way through all these goodies, and start next week. I hate throwing food out, it goes against everything, but I dont want my normal apathy to creep in and then I just know I wont bother .....

Arg! Tricky one! Why don't you gradually use up what is left, but maybe give any unopened stuff to friends or a local food bank? Then focus on making your plan of attack for the rest of the month? You are doing all the right things with the nhs plan etc...Give it all a go!

Post here on the forum, there is the Monday weigh in tomorrow, and we will all help you stay motivated!!

Good luck!

Onwards and Downwards as we say around here! :-)

Donate to a food bank - feel like you're doing a good deed and prevent yourself eating it at the same time! There are food bank collections at our local tesco/sainsbobs stores.

One of the best things you can do to succeed with your weight loss is to make sure your house if completely free from junk food. I agree with nteapea that you should get rid of it. Now.🗑

Do you know what...I stuck that post on , and blow me I got lots of really helpful replies. But not only were they helpful in terms of their advice, but they were just so motivating in terms of support. They made me feel like I CAN do this, that I'm not on my own, that I have got people out there to prop me up when I'm struggling, and for that I thank all of you for taking the time, and making the effort to reply. Your few words have meant more than you can know to me. Thank you and Happy new year to you too.

How good is your willpower? Got given a big box of chocolates and I've hidden them under the bed. Best before date isn't until October.

Bad idea to eat the goodies. Best to donate to old people's home or children's centres.

Yes, you already know the answer, pour the wine down the sink, check the eat by dates on other things and put them away out of sight if you can.

I try to think "what would I pay to be slim and healthier " . . . Throwing food out is tough but you know what they say, "it's not a waste if it saves your waist" ☺
