Since I have been retired I have put on weight, and starting to feel uncomfortable with it. I have tried to loose weight with different diets, but I feel as if I lack motivation. I am hoping this site will give me the motivation and the get up and do it attitude I need.

Since Retired
Hello.................................lots of support and help here, I think it's vital to be brutal in your approach, the 12 week plan that lots use seems to work well,, for me it's cals, and an ongoing story of menopasal bloating!
Firstly check out your bmr (basic metabolic rate, calculators online) and then you will find your calorie needs, and work from that, I tend to work on a 5 part day system,,3 meals and 2 snacks, as a maintainer, it's different a bit, tho full on reducing mode after christmas.
Lots of support here too, if and when you need it, ask anything you want , and lot of inspiring post, the journey starts here, to your better and healthier self!
hi.. Here is the link to the nhs calculator.. it gives you an indication on how many calories you should be eating x

A diet is for life. Change your eating habit, walk a bit, join Ramblers or a gym or just follow all the exercises in the NHS site.
Did you see The Marigold Hotel lot in Japan. Oldest lived nation - exercise every morning.
I sympathise with your problem - I am on an extended "career break", and have let my weight creep up a bit. I definitely find that I need to keep busy and have a routine, or I can all too easily find reasons to snack. Maybe you need to establish a new post-retirement routine that gets you out and about and active, and fit your mealtimes around that? This might help you to ensure that food and meals aren't too much of a ihghlight in your day, as you'll have plenty else to do which is interesting. All the best.
