It's a pity that gym membership can't be shared! All those people that have, but don't use and all those people that want, but can't afford
Totally agree moreless! That would be a great idea. My local gym is £45, which I know is a lot cheaper than virgin etc, but it's too far out my budget. Luckily they do a reasonable swim package!
You'd think that gym memberships would be subsidised, as that would be cheaper for the government, than the cost of weight related illness! It's a lot like the high cost of fresh, healthy food, versus the cheap, unhealthy, processed junk! What a topsy turvy world we live in!
I can't wait to be 60, because then I can get 1/2 price gym membership and free bus travel!
My dad was delighted at turning 60 and getting his bus pass!! I think it would make a lot of sense for the NHS to subsidise gym memberships and I think they do in certain deprived areas. With my thyroid, I am at increased risk of insulin resistance and potentially diabetes, if I don't watch my diet and exercise regularly, and yet I haven't had any blood sugars taken since I was pregnant 5 years ago! I have recently thought about buying a test kit, just to see, as I have no insight into what could potentially be a ticking time bomb!
