Thinking this today as I throw away perfectly good food . . . Something I find VERY difficult but I don't want to eat it so into the bin it goes!! Anyone else struggle with this?

I find it unbelievably difficult to do Anna, that's why my freezers are full to bursting! :D

It's also very handy having a dog! :D

I wish I had a dog for that reason 😊 They would love to sleep by Miss Fizz's feet in the kitchen :D :D

I hate wasting food so I limit what I buy, only cook what I need and always freeze portions of lasagne, bolognese, curry etc. Same with my meals, I hate leaving anything on the plate so always weigh out my portions.

I'm the same usually but this was a sticky toffee pudding bought on impulse and a hefty 400 calories 😕 So it's safely in the bin!! I also have the remainders from a box of chocolates (brought to me when we had visitors) so they got thrown away too 😊 If they're un-opened I put in the food bank.

I generally only cook the exact amount so I'm not tempted. But I notice slim healthy friends throw food away without a care . . . Whilst it may be wrong they are at least slim and healthy 😕

There was a time I'd have crawled over broken glass for a sticky toffee pudding - well impressed with that going in the bin :)

I compost everything except bits of meat/fish although over the winter I'll be composting those as well. We have a wood burner so cold ashes, some water to keep it sloppy, and anything we do eat goes into bins (just normal plastic dustbins). By the end of the winter these are TRULY disgusting and bubbling like crazy! I then dig a pit in the veggie plot, tip it in then back fill with soil - the runner beans love it!

All the extra work involved means you'll get lots of exercise, get even slimmer AND you get healthy, tasty, home grown, fresh veg out of it, so triple bonus! Woohoo. 👍 👍 👍

I totally understand where you're coming from, I was raised in a household that was very strict about cleaning your plate. These are habits that can be difficult to break but break them we will! ;) Slowly but surely, these habits will be changed. I'm also trying to manage my portions so I don't waste food so then I don't have that guilty feeling. It takes some getting use to but we'll get there IndigoBlue61 !! :P

Sazkia :)

All the time Anna, 😕. I keep forgetting we don't have our dog anymore and I feel really guilty putting food in the bin but it's got to be done !

😇

I certainly do struggle with wasting food. As kids we were never allowed to do this. But I need to lose weight for my health so it has to be done!

This includes Miss Fizz's leftovers or unwanted food. One day she loves it, next day she can't stand it :D :D

Oh my! Well done 😊 That's tough 😕 We always called it 'mine sweeping' and it's a well known cause of young mums weight gain!! 😜😜😜
