Bedtime work out

Hi just want to ask if I can still lose weight if I work out at night? That's my only free time being a mom I always have to wait until the kids are settled in bed.

Yes of course, tho diet plays a bigger part in weight loss, I know the stomach has a 'clock' in aiding digestion, at times of the day.

Hormones vital and yet tricky at times

Thank you

I read somewhere that if you exercise in the evening then make sure you don't go to bed till at least two hours after exercising because the brain is very active after a work-out, the heart rate rises and the adrenaline is pumping around the body plus you'll have a higher temp - not the sort of things you want while trying to sleep! :P

Being a mother I would imagine you get a lot of exercise running after your kids, you're probably fitter than you realise. :) I think you'll be alright exercising in the evening, just try to have a gap between that and going to bed. :) Sleep is very important to our health too, so a good night's sleep will help you lose weight; something you might want to think about if you are on about exercising right before you go to bed.

Have a great week and I hope you manage to fit in some exercise! Like Diana said, it is mostly down to diet - I think the ratio is something like 80/20 80% is diet and 20% is exercise. :)

I think evening is a good time to workout as you you will get nice and tired ready for rest and relaxation 😊 But perhaps you will need a little while to re hydrate and return to a restful state before sleep.

I agree that you are probably getting lots of exercise with your children, I always joked it was a miracle I was overweight running around after my three!! Lol 😊 It was obviously the eating that was the problem 😊

Absolutely! I work long days and two nights a week I can't get to the gym till just before 10 pm. Yes you can feel a bit wired when you get home but you also feel great the next morning knowing you've exercised . I used my long working days as an excuse not to exercise but I feel so much better for it and loads more energy. It's tough with little ones but you need you time and feeling better about yourself is key . Good luck !!
