Counter Weight

HI all. Newbie here. I was referred by my gp to a weight management programme which turned out to be counterweight. Totally confused as no guidelines set just weight and bmi done. Has anyone else attended this programme?

Hi Fergujh,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. You're very welcome, and I'd like to suggest maybe reading our Welcome Newbie post, as it will show you what people think about the forum, and yes, many of us have been successful using the NHS 12 week plan, so I'd definitely recommend trying it - if you like the look of it.

Sign up for the E-mail support, and you'll be guided through the weekly programme, that would definitely help.

Maybe join in the weekly weigh-in - it's on Mondays, so look out for the posting if you're interested - it's always posted in the Events section, below the Pinned posts.

Have a great weekend and a great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

Thank you xx

Hi fergujh :)

I don't think I've heard of counterweight before but I hope it works for you. :) This forum is a great plan to be, you'll usually find that someone can answer your questions and offer encouragement. I find the NHS 12 week plan very simple and basic (which is really good) and it's helped me lose nearly 2 stone so far. :)

Anyway, I just wanted to offer my welcome and I hope you'll really enjoy being a member her. :)

I've not heard of this programme sorry, was this just the first week? I attended a scheme run by my local hospital and we didn't receive our personalised eating plans until week two.

I know you are probably eager to start but don't be put off. In the meantime you could look at what you are eating and think about any changes you could make.

The biggest change for me was in my head, changing my whole relationship with food, and discovering a new appreciation of how my body deserves to be well nourished 😊

Hope the programme suits your needs. Good luck 😊
