There's a link to recommended quantities here

have a look at the healthy eating plate too.

Hope this helps.

If you log your daily food on one of the calorie counting apps, like Cronometer, it will show you what % of the recommended intake of all vitamins, protein, fat, fibre etc. you have consumed so you can see if you are coming up short of anything.

I follow a plan that counts portions rather than individual calories, it's very similar to the British Heart Foundation plan, which you can find on their website in their "Facts not Fads" booklet. 😊 This might suit you better?

I do a bit if both, did you sign up for the emails from nhs12 week plan as well? Hope you get sorted out 😊

I can send you more info if you wish? Just pm me 😊

If you google NHS 12 week plan there should be a link 😊 Or have a look at the newbies post on here, it's 'pinned' so will either be at the right of the screen or at the end if you scroll down right to the bottom on your phone 😊

Not sure if this link will work but this is similar 😊

Can't get the blooming link to work!!! Google "NHS guide to portion sizes" it's a PDF file

Hi, personally I wouldn't worry about all that - it's just too many targets to meet.

If you need to lose weight, your best focus is on your calorie intake and working out what that should be. Then follow the healthy eating guidelines of fresh food, cook from scratch as much as possible, 5 portions of fruit and veg a day etc etc. and you will find that the protein intake etc takes care of itself.

The amounts you need can depend on various things like your age and health. Some types of food are essential, such as protein and essential fatty acids. Increasing protein and decreasing carbs are recommended as we age.

I find the Livewell plate has too many processed carbs and not enough healthy fat for me.

Not what you're looking for?
