Steps.

I've managed to do at least 150% of my step challenge for 6 days in a row. Not easy as there is nowhere to walk around here, so I've gone out for an early early walk around the Historic Dockyard that I live in. Then come home for breakfast (that's a miracle as I never used to eat anything until evening) then walked down to town and back. I have to admit that my challenge is only 5,000 a day but I intend to up that by a thousand a week until I can hit the 10,000.

If I were to set it to that amount now, I know I'd fail and that would be disheartening.

Does that sound the right thing to do ? X

Also hope I've posted this in the correct topic.

Hi, yes you're doing the right thing, you should gradually increase any exercise, not go in all guns blazing! Well done on eating breakfast too.

I think you'll surprise yourself at how quickly you can build up to 10,000 steps, and how your body will soon be able to do them with ease. Walking round a historic dockyard sounds quite nice to me. Where I live it's basically the main road, or the side roads!
