Bronchiectatasis first post: Good... - Weight Loss Support
Bronchiectatasis first post
HI Sunny_48,
Feel free to join in the chat - anything that encourages you to eat healthily and to be as active as you can, within the limits of your condition, is good.
I realise that exercise is difficult with a lung condition, but you might have to find out just what you can, and can't do. My daughter finds cycling helps her weight without making breathing too difficult (as running might). Can you swim or does the chlorine exacerbate the asthma? Do you have a problem with animal fur?
Once you have worked out what your triggers are, you can make a plan of action; to eat less and move more. You will feel more in control of the situation then. Stay in touch on here - it all helps.
Hi and welcome sunny
I'm not an expert on your condition, but there is another community that may be able to help with more specific advice/empathy

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.
Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have.
Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
You can structure your own exercise programme within the restrictions of your health.
Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest and myself , you'll be notified when we post the threads. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration
Wishing you all the very best
