After a very busy bank holiday weekend, which went smoothly but left us exhausted; have now crashed with a head cold and a need to be nice to myself for a while.
Treated myself to a portion of Apple and Blackberry Crumble with custard yesterday and later a few squares of chocolate which made me feel better - but must remember not to use food as a pick-me-up!
I have always turned to food when feeling tired or ill, and I always feel better afterwards, but it does go straight to the wobbly belly, so need to find other ways, such as hot drinks and soups perhaps.
I ignored the need to laze around yesterday afternoon in my spare time, and went up to the farm to enjoy the glorious sunshine, and a ride on Milly the mare. She was in a lovely friendly mood (not always like that) and we even braved a little canter when she gently loped up the hill - came back home feeling so much better. Animals are definitely the answer to all our woes!
