hello,

New here! I'm starting the 12 week programme tomorrow hoping to shift all ma baby weight.

Any mums here who have lost weight (and toned) that share their advice ?

I've struggled to lose any weight at all since i gave birth 2 years ago - yes a very long time ago. Pre baby I was 57kg very slim without an ounce of fat and now I'm 64kg and fat all over :( very depressing times.

I have tried many times to diet and workout but i seem to lose interest when i dont notice and weightloss.

any suggestions would be amazing

thanks all !

Hi and welcome Roxy :)

I'm not a new mum, my "baby" is 36! However, I'm still trying to lose the baby weight! :D

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in, if you follow Zest , you'll get a notification when she posts the thread, but the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration :)

Wishing you all the very best :)

Hi roxy1108 and welcome to this very friendly forum. 😀

You have definitely come to the right place for motivation, advice and support.

moreless has already given you lots of helpfull places to start. I would recommend the nhs12wk plan as i started this back at the end of feb and have just hit my 2 stone target and just yesterday brought size 12 (yep i said size 12!! 😆) jeans, normally wear a 16/18 👖and have lost 5inches off my mummy tummy.

My problem areas were my mummy tummy and general baby fat (my boys are 3 and 6) took me ages to realise that I needed to make a healthier me for my wellbeing and theirs. 👬

I feel so much happier in myself and obviously healthier and slimmer 🎉

Look at the nhs12wk plan as a lifestyle change and not a diet. Tweek your existing food to low fat, low sugar, swap to wholemeal bread pasta wraps etc, drink more water, eat healthier snacks and move more. Ive recently brought myself a jawbone up move which tracks my steps and sleep. I aim for 10,000 a day (ish?!?!) 🏃

Before the school hols and when i had more free time i did a davina mackall dvd which helped me tone up and would highly recommend something like this as I combined weights with cardio and helped me loose weight and tone. In September i aim to start this again a few times a week 💃

Lastly ... use this forum and get involved as much as possible with the challenges. Read as much as you can as i can truly say this forum kept me going through my weight loss.

Good luck and i look forward to seeing your progress 💗

Thank you both !

I am starting my 12wkplan tomorrow and looking forward to it. Will be dusting off my treadmill at home and using that to exercise! I really hope to fit back into my size 8 jeans in 12 weeks time!

Good for you Roxy! :)

Hi Roxy,

I have four kids - the eldest is 6, the youngest is 10 months. The problem for mums with very young kids is time. When they are tiny, they are physically dependant on you for everything and you often end up exhausted and just want to sleep when you get a chance instead of exercise. This has been my problem. I have actually been in the healthy weight range more or less since March, but it wasn't until I started exercising again that the weight started to shift more.

You've been given great advice already. I would echo all of it. I would also suggest downloading a weightloss app to track your food intake - I was horrified to find how much I was actually eating compared to what I thought I was eating!

I also work out (force myself 😀😀) 4-5 times a week when the kids are in bed to an aerobics DVD.

Being a mum is the most challenging and tiring job you will ever do, don't put too much pressure on yourself and if you mess up one day, start afresh the next.

This forum is amazing - try and log in every day if you can. We're all likeminded people and here to help.

Take care and good luck 💜
