Where do I begin. 3 stone seems such a lot to lose. How are you motivating yourselves? Any tips to stop compulsive eating would be fabulous !

Hi and welcome Iwantawaist :)

I've lost 6st so far, so 3st doesn't seem so bad to me. You can do it and we can help :)

Have a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile) and read our Welcome Newbie post. It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating.

Consider signing up for any, or all of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

We also have a monday group weigh-in and if you click follow on my profile, you'll get a notification when I post it on monday. You can have a look at the latest thread in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we meet to exchange ideas and get our daily fix of inspiration and motivation :)

Wishing you all the very best :)

Hello

The first step on this journey is with your mind. Do some thinking about your relationship with food, try to establish over eating triggers. Traditional "diets" are about deprivation, hunger and will power, things I have always struggled with (hence 40+ years of being ovetweight) 😕

When you are in the right place mentally, research healthy eating plans, ie low carb or calorie counted or whatever you think will work for you. I follow a calorie counted plan, but a generous one with treats allowed to prevent hunger and feeling deprived 😊 Read the posts moreless suggested, check out the nhs12 week plan, work out how many calories you can eat, and go for it!! 😊 We are here to cheer you along the road to success 😊 Good luck!

Thank you so much. I know it's time to sort myself out. I don't recognise myself in the mirror any more. I am determined to lose my jelly belly and feel in control of my weight :)

I hear you IWAW x I have 4stone to shift and think of eating many many times a day. I am taking 1 hr 1 day at a time. I do work full time but work nights and don't sleep well, so I have bags of free time....usually to eat and I am just starting to work on it and am far from having under control. when I feel snack attack coming on, I try to do something else. I am lots of things I can do, crafts DIY etc.......just rather eat. I must and will get out of this place. good luck x
