Appearently, the British poplulation cheats on the amount of calorie they consume per day. According to some survey, people think their daily calorie intake is around 2000kcal; however, if they ate around 2000kcal, they would have been losing weight insead of developing different forms of diebetes.
In this article they also show the amount of calories in junk food and how long we should walk or run in order to burn those calories they provide.

That's why I think weighing everything is important, judging portion size just by looking at it is dangerous! Pleased I don't drink wine 1 large glass = a doughnut!
I agree, weighting food is the only was to be 100% aware of the calorie intake. Also cooking at home is important. We don't know which ingredients they use in restautant and how much they use to flavour food!
