Only lost one pound this week:(
1lb loss is still a loss!
Try not to set your sights too high, like 3lbs a week or something. Because there's not a 100% guarantee you're going to reach that, so you'll set yourself up for failure.
Also, try not to get caught up in other people's results. It can be disheartening when you're reading someone has lost 4 lbs this week and you've only lost one or gained.
Everyone is different; at different stages, different ages, different lives, different bodies, different everything! It's like picking a coat for winter, what looks good someone else, might not look good on you, but it goes both ways, what looks good on you, won't always look good on someone else lol.
The way I see it, it is constant trial and error. Figuring out what works for you and what doesn't work. So this week is only 1lb loss, but you've already said you're going to step up activity this week. So give that a go for a week and see if you notice anything.
Remember though, it is not always about the number on the scale. Muscle is denser than fat, so you may be losing fat, bit gain muscle, so it might look like the scale isn't moving.
Use measurements too, like waist, hips etc. Or just find a piece of clothing that is tight and test every so often how it fits - you start to fit in to it, you're doing something right. It gets smaller, reassess what you're doing and adjust your diet and exercise.
Celebrate that 1lb!! That's 1lb closer to your goal and 1lb less you have to lose over all! Keep it up!!
I never lose more than one pound per week but I always think that if I keep on going, after 12 weeks that will be 12 pounds gone - which is substantial.
I also like the idea that if you lose it slowly it won't come back so quickly. 🌻
Morning notsoslimnow, Well done on losing a pound this week. I've been exactly where you are and been frustrated at my weekly weight loss. All I can say is stick with it because one of these weeks you will get a huge loss. It's a wee test to try and get you to throw the towel in. Fight it and keep going. It happened to me, a pound off here and there and then 7 pounds. I hadn't done anything different. My daily calorie intake was the same, my exercise was the same. No rhythm nor reason for such a dramatic weight loss in one week. So please don't be disheartened, you're a pound closer to your target. Well done again. Have a great week.
Kenny
Thanks Kenny your post was very encouraging and especially the idea its a wee test. I am so determined I will stick with it and celebrate the fact I have lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks - so the one pound is taking me towards my goal not away from it. Thank you and hope you are doing well

Yes how pathetic to just lose 1lb in a week. If you only did that every week for a year you'd lose only 48lbs if you took 4 weeks off for holidays and celebrations and just how pathetic would only losing 48lbs a year be?
Come on notsoslimnow. 1lb a week is a fantastic acheivement and you should be very happy. It's taken your life to get here so don't expect it to go quickly. Slowly and steady are the key ways to lose weight and maintain that weight loss. Too quickly and you can end up putting it all back on, just as quickly
It was such a disappointment when I only lost 1 lb on each week for two weeks after doing so much exercise and being really good with my eating and I realised that I had to change the way I thought about slower weight loss. I found two 500g packs of butter in the fridge, packed them in a little rucksack with my usual bottle of water and off I went for my usual 6 mile walk. Wow that rucksack felt heavy! It was wonderful to put that fat back in the fridge when I got home and not have to live with it as part of my body any more. Now a weight loss of 1 lb seems wonderful! Chin up and keep going.
Well done , I only lost a little bit at first so don't be disheartened you may get a surprise next weigh in . Good luck..
