New day, new start......again!

Morning all, I'm just starting this and hope to stay motivated! I can manage the calorie counting, exercise and healthy eating for about 2-3 weeks then lose it and regain the minimal lbs that I lost in that time- it's so frustrating! Hoping that's not the case this time, wish me luck ! Any tips gratefully received!

Hi Scoobysoose,

Great to hear you're having a 'New day, new start' - and I notice you mention 'Again' - so I'm wondering if you might be interested in joining our Re-boot Challenge. Have you followed the NHS 12 week plan yet? If so, you'll know all about it, and will know if you'd like to do it again or not, and if you do, then maybe using the Re-boot framework that we've put together might be helpful. People are contributing their Reflections/Feedback on each week when they complete the week, and so far the Week 1 post is up, and on Tuesday 24th May the Week 2 Reflection post will be there as well. We've only started a couple of weeks ago, and people are joining in still.

Here's a link if you're interested:

Also, the Monday group weigh-ins are motivating, so do join us there if you like the sound of a weekly weigh-in with others alongside you. See the Events section for the latest thread (below the pinned posts, right-hand-side of the homepage).

I'm assuming you've already seen the Welcome Newbies post that moreless has put together, but if not, it's definitely worth a read - lots of great suggestions and information from Weight Loss NHS forum members.

Wishing you success with your weight loss journey, and a great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

My advice to you is to stop thinking of this as a diet in the short term and start thinking about it as a new diet, or way of eating, for life. Don't be too hard on yourself, this is about changing the habits of a lifetime and is not easy.

Sit down with pen and paper and make yourself a list of all the positives and reasons you want to lose weight and then a list of the negatives, the effects on you if you do not lose. Stick this up somewhere that you can easily read it whenever your motivation starts to flag.

Allow yourself the occasional treat, trying to cut out too much too soon will lead to failure. Build the treat in to your plan. Perhaps a nice reward at the weekend for having stayed totally on track all week. Cut yourself a bit of slack, if you go off course one day draw a line and get right back to it. One bad day does not have to lead to failure

Good luck and I hope this time will lead to success
