I braved the scales this morning to see what damage my pub meals and sandwich lunches had done, with one or two extra treats along the way! We avoided desserts and chose wisely when eating out, but we did have the odd glass of cider or fruit juice with lemonade, and the odd piece of cake with our packed lunches. I didn't weigh or measure anything, and expected a small gain as I was eating more carbs than usual, and I know these make you retain water..... so was actually quite pleased with a gain of only 1lb this morning! Should be able to get that shifted by next monday, now that I am back on the straight and narrow!
Pleased to report Knees and ankles in full working order, and no sore paws for the dogs as we had built up to this mountain walk, with gradually lengthening walks and climbs. They had the sense to sleep all of yesterday too!

Stunning scenery. I love walking too. Bet the dogs loved it as much as you
Wow what a cracking view! Well done for only gaining a pound. Sure you will shift that my next weigh in
Brilliant pic and glad the dogs fared well I'm just back from a camping hol in sussex where I know I had more and different types of foods than normal, including cider, crisps, a bit of cake, but there was also walking and I seem to have stayed the same on my weigh in. Your 1lb gain seems very slight knowing how much you've let your hair down. I think there's a lot to be said for pairing good food with good walking territory
....and hopefully you sleep so well after all the fresh air and exercise, you come home feeling refreshed and ready to face all that life throws at you!
Exactly! And a more worldly perspective after being surrounded by all those broad horizons, helps to ease all the little stresses that bog us down day to day
That sounds like a good win, just 1lb gained for really enjoying yourself but being sensible at the same time! And you are so lucky to have all that beautiful scenery to walk in, must be very motivating!
The view above was taken from the top of Cadair Idris in Wales on the bottom edge of the Snowdonia National Park - a little more mountainous than Dartmoor, and a lot more green (could be due to the rain Wales gets) with many more sheep! The scenery all round Mid-Wales where we stayed is excellent, with good roads too.
I did wonder about mountains in Dartmoor lol but thought maybe that's what you call big hills! I love Snowdon, went to uni in north Wales many moons ago...beautiful 😊
Hi DD,
What a result !! Fantastic. Love the photo how happy you all look.
What do you mean, Wales is wet? Looks like you needed your sun hat to me. Actually to be honest it is so wet, that today everyone was just ignoring the drizzle and walking round without macs as if it wasn't raining at all. And it was. Perhaps that lb is just a little bit of sogginess!
