You know what thought did.....

Ummmm....thought I was doing well....lost some weight....feeling better about myself....then went to buy a swimming costume for a summer holiday and for me reality hit home.....! expected to look ok I guess...truth hurts...I didn't.....I was shocked...and the changing room showed all the still lumps and bumps......feeling demotivated.......I hope this feeling will only last a day.  The said swimming costume is back in it's bag....

What you need is a better designed swimming costume that looks good now.  There are all sorts of cunning ones out there.  Perhaps look elsewhere.

Hi Miamia,

I agree with Venusflytrap  - have a look for another costume that is more flattering to your current body shape.  There are some great designs out there.

Good luck!

Have a great weekend, and Congratulations on losing some weight, that is really great!  Hold on to that 'feeling better about yourself' feeling - and it will spur you on to more progress.

Lowcal :-)

I agree...plus can you order from a catalogue so you can try in the comfort of your own home?  I don't know what size you are and making the assumption you are in the UK, but I think Fashion World and their affiliates sell costumes like Venus says about, cunning designs to flatter.  Not that I'd go near a swimming costume personally with my flabby thighs and swollen leg!  I think you must be doing fabulously, be sure to keep that confidence because it sounds like it is well founded!

I just want to add something else to the mix...if you go swimming, unless you are incredibly unlucky to find a pool/beach with nothing but stick thin models, then think of it this way...it is very likely that most people who are there will all be thinking the same way as you are...worrying more about what they look like themselves than what YOU look like, if you know what I mean.  So try not to worry too much about things and just enjoy yourself.  I regret having had hang ups about my figure when I was younger and missing out.  Now I look in the mirror and realise what I had and wish I'd not been so self-conscious!

Oh I know that feeling!! just focus on how much better you look compared to before 😕 I have lots of lumps and bumps and wobbly bits usually kept well covered, no escape in swimwear 😜

Not what you're looking for?
