Desperately Trying!! I stopped smoking in October for stoptober. I have put 2 stone on, making the loss I need to make 4 stone in total. I have started exercising and running, watching what I eat - mostly slimming world stuff and have lost nothing!! From previous experience I know if I start smoking again I will lose 2 stone really quickly, but I really don't want to go back to it this time - I want to quit for good!! Any tips please??

Hi Cunners99,
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS community forum. Well done for stopping smoking in October - that's a great achievement! Great that you've started exercising and running, and watch ing what you eat.
I would recommend having a look at the NHS 12 week plan. We have a Welcome Newbie post, which moreless has collated, and the link to the NHS 12 week plan is in her opening introduction within that post:
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
We have a Monday group weigh-in which you might find motivating - so if you like the idea of that, maybe have a read through the latest post, which is in the Events section (right-hand-side of the homepage).
The Pinned Posts (above the Events section) are also worth a look - as there are various Challenges going on currently in the forum, and you'd be welcome to join in anything that takes your interest. There's also a Recipe collation post there, but you need to click on 'view 6 more' to access that, as it's hidden from view otherwise.
Wishing you all the best for your weight loss journey, and I hope to see you around and about in the forum. It's a friendly and supportive place.

Please don't think about starting smoking again.
Have you checked how many calories you are consuming and how many you should be having
If not I suggest you do so as very often people are surprised at how few calories their bodies need in order to maintain weight let alone lose it
For years I was going along with the average woman needs 2000 calories a day and will lose weight by eating only 1500. This is not true for me and a lot of people I know so do check it out. Good luck x
They say smoking affects you tastebuds, I've never smoked so I wouldn't know, or is it keeping your hands occupied, cross stitch or something/worry beads to do/ dibble with.
Great tasting herbal teas will tackle cravings and not hunger, which may help.
Lowcal has already given great advice, as always
