Hi. Just wondering if anyone has used Nutracheck? I know most people seem to use Myfitnesspal but my dinosaur old phone will not load it as I cannot update it to the next level (so I am told - husband is the techno whiz). I have been using Weight Watchers old points system (on 20 points) but am interested to compare how many calories I get with the 2 systems. Many thanks.

I use MFP (one reason) No Fee to pay,
Nutracheck gives you a free trial,then you pay.... However I prefer using it,it seems more realistic to me, MFP is more for the very keen) fitness/diet fantasts, buts that's just my opinion 😜

Nutracheck is the calorie counter on the nhs site by the way, but it's not mobile!!! I have requested an NHS calorie counter on the feedback, but nothing as of yet.
We need to start a campaign 💡💡💡💡 we want our own NHS 12 week (&beyond) counter !!!!!

Its ok to have the calorie counter on the computer but so much easier to have it on your phone so that you can take it out with you.
Nutracheck is free if you use it through the NHS website- but its only a calorie counter- whereas a lot of us have to watch our carbs so mfp is what i prefer (well theres quite a lot of reasons) but its horses for courses : )
p.s. i was over 17 stones when i started using mfp so its not just for hardcore gym bunnies lol

I've used both and Nutracheck is miles better, though of course not free. MFP is a) too American (so the lists of food suggested when you try to enter things in food diary are full of stuff you've never heard of), b) it doesn't save anything - Nutracheck enables you to enter favourite recipes so you just enter that + i serving (for example) and you can tell it to repeat something every day (e.g. half pint milk), c) Nutracheck keeps track of '5 a day' and alcohol and is generally a much more user friendly website.

I used to use myfatsecret calorie counter, but after joining here, and getting a Garmin stepcounter, I started using mfp.
I have just gone back to myfatsecret, as I personally like he simplicity and design more. I can manually add exercise ( including housework 😉).
I cannot tell you what it's like on an android phone, mfp was full of awful advertising, which it isn't on a windows phone, but I haven't used myfatsecret on android yet.
You can make your own meal, and it pretty much the same, but I found changes quantities of foods easier as well.
I am a Weight Watcher and my partner is following the 800kcal plan which I find goes very well with WW's No Count. I am tracking via the new Smart Points system which gives preferential weightings to protein and fibre and penalises intake of sugary foods. Apart from cutting down on the variety and amount of fruit and root vegetables, the plans seem to mesh well together for planning and tracking intake. We have found the kcal totals now shown within the calculator is quite helpful for us now we are looking at our total. The carb totals are there too.
I am using nutra check as it was on the nhs site, i don't mind paying because i love the set up and its so easy to use.
Also I have found calorie counting on nutra check is so much easier than weight watchers, been there too many times and failed,here I eat what i like as it adds up all the kcals for me and keeps my daily diary so I can look back on what I consume and exercise and water intake too.
Do you believe that Nutracheck is accurate? I have been logging my intake (and exercise) but don't seem to be hitting the targets
Hi sorry you replied to a very old post of mine. I didn’t end up using nutracheck and mainly used MyFitnessPal so I can’t comment on its accuracy. Best of luck to you 😊
