I took my scales off the bath mat and put them directly on the tiled floor. I instantly lost 3kg.

HI Rodeojoe,
That does show how having your scales on a permanent secure place helps - and how much weight can vary if you move them around...
Hope you're having a good week, and welcome to the forum!

Hi thanks for the reply.
I had a liver transplant about a year and a half ago, at the time I weighed 80kg. But since then due to meds and my body actually retaining nutrients I've put on a massive 25kg. Well I decided when I got on the scales on Monday and found out over the weekend I'd put on another 3kg something had to be done. So I dieted all week, logging my food onto my fitness pal, made sure I stuck to the recommended calories and started exercises. So far this week I've racked up 60km cycling.
Inadvertently putting the scales on the bathmat was a good thing .
Hi Rodeojoe,
Welcome again, and it's great that you had a good result this morning.
I'd like to give you the link to our 'Welcome Newbie' post, if that's ok:

Hope you'll enjoy being part of this community - it's a friendly and supportive place, and good luck with your goals. Congratulations that your liver transplant has gone well, and wow, you've clocked up a lot of kms of cycling - the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Challenge people (Fizzyliz and Moreless et al) might be something you might want to join in with (see Pinned posts - right-hand-side of the homepage for details).
Have a great week!

Yeah they're meant to be placed on a hard level surface, which is a shame. When I place them on my bedroom carpet I lose 2 stone
Well, as you mention this...one day I stood on and lost an impressive stone in weight. Then I realised a metal lid was lodged under the one side...oh the disappointment! 😊
