The hula dancing brings a smile to my face. What a great night. So good to see all of us getting stuck in and shaking our bon bons Never thought I would see Ricky wearing those coconuts
Today we are on Day 50 of our epic journey around the world. We are now more than halfway yet we have so many wonderful places to see and exciting experiences to be had.
We have island hopped from Guam to Micronesia and now to the Marshall Islands. Today we are leisurely kayaking to as many islands as we can and will stop and do some snorkelling along the way. Look at the clear blue waters and white sands. Before you get in the kayak, please make your way to Daniel, Idris and George for your suncream, hat and sunglasses. Its going to be a scorcher today.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and manages to clock up some steps/kms/miles. It is so brillant that have over 60 travellers that check in every day. You are a motivating force for each other.
Sorry I didn't get around to posting my km yesterday, total for Friday 7.02 km. I just about reached my goal, today is likely to be a less active day but I'll report my Saturday total later. Have a good weekend everyone.
Would someone like to join me in a double kayak please? I have no sense of balance and can't stay upright in a single!
Well the sun shone today and was perfect for getting out for a walk. Set off, hatless and gloveless and with a T shirt under my jacket - what a silly old fool! It snowed!! However, it had the effect of making me walk faster, so I soon worked up a sweat!
Managed 9.6K's today and feeling much happier with myself!
Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement and support. I don't know what I'd do without you all
I've completely lost where I am and I think I even missed Ricky last night !!
Anyway, I think I need to report yesterday (which won't take long) and today (which is slightly better !!)
Friday
Me - probably about 1k walking around during the day - first day of half term so a bit busy at home !
Mr L - 4k dog walks
Saturday
Me - 16.3k run (that's 10 miles !!). No further walking for the rest of the day - not one single inch. I've been on the sofa reading a book all the rest of the day !
First day of the half-term break and just pottered about so it's 4187 steps today. Aiming for a good walk out in the wintery sunshine we are promised tomorrow!
Another great stopover. I would like to book a pedicure and then swim alongside your canoes. I would enjoy group holidays far more if FizzyLiz was always the tour guide.
Me, Saturday which now means spinning class and getting soaked in freezing rain -twice although not as bad as last week. Spinning class was wonderful and like several other people in the class I then did a weights session and went on out to breakfast to a really nice healthy cafe. There was also errands, shopping and a museum plus a few short jogs on the running machines between weights sets (another great idea from Lowcal) and my total added up: 50.5k my personal best!!
Anyway I lost the last of my four woolie hats today so I may never be able to leave the house again.
I've just had to pick myself up off the ground Gonti! I'm speechless! What a phenomenal result! You sound so perky too! You have single-handedly completed 6 travellers required K's - I'm awestruck!
I'll get knitting right away, it's the least I could do!
Apart from the cost in woolie hats this challenge has been utterly brilliant for me. I've discovered spinning classes, and the Marshall Isalnds, have Ricki Martin on my play list and best of all am walking much much further than before Xmas and I am even jogging gently, a bit. Knee is so.o grateful πππ
Everyone is doing amazingly well and I know that without this challenge I wouldn't be doing as much exercise as I am! Swimming twice a week, probably, but 10km every day on the exercise bike....probably not π!
Today I have done 10.3 km on the exercise bike and 2684 steps.
Thanks moreless. Must tell you a funny tale, I was in hospital for an operation and the aneathetist said think of something really nice as I was going under I was heard to say oh George. I found this out later as the surgeon was named George and he thought I was speaking about him, I fibbed and said yes but it was GC. Hope you are feeling much better. Brings a smile to my face.
Where there's a will, there's a way Fran I bet we're the only people around that deliberately look for the long way round, or the most difficult and least efficient ways to do things!
