Have a look at your calorie intake again. I had to weigh everything out for a couple of weeks to adjust my portion sizes back to a healthy level. Several weeks down the line the tiny portions are now normal and filling. If you are putting on weight you must be taking in more calories than you need. You might well be eating really healthy stuff but, still, if the amounts are high then weight gain is inevitable.
Just treat it as a puzzle to solve. Weigh out and record your intake and make sure your scales are consistent and accurate - might be worth investing in an accurate set.
Don't give up sometimes this happens then next week weight will come of .. I haven't lost any weight nor put any on which is a relief as am on steroids , am finding it hard as hunger page setting in but I shall keep trying good luck to you all hope you have better luck than me sheila x
Diligent500, there can be many reasons. For how long don't you lose?
First of all, the most important - check your diet. People tend to think they eat less than they really do. Here comes the math to help us In most cases, the problem is there.
If you can swear your diet is perfect, this can be:
1) plateau - so just continue this way;
2) stress - it makes hormone cortisol secret, which supresses fat burn;
3) medicines - some drugs make water retain in your body
4) ..so on and on.
Anyways, never give up, with small steps you'll be there!
Sometimes I find the best way to get over a plateau is to take a break. You may need to do so for over a week. Then jump back into it, very strictly, and you should see results.
If you haven't lost any weight some people might say you've not met your deficit in calories in order for your body to eat into your 'fat stores'. Though there could be other reasons - not drinking enough water causing you to retain water in your body so the fat loss isn't showing on the scales. Hows your Hydration?
Also what is your activity level like - Muscle weights twice as much as fat, if you eat sufficient protein and workout using resistance you may have put on muscle weight and the scales may not show your fat loss (Reduction in body fat percentage is more important than the amount of weight on the scale). The more muslce you gain the more your body will burn fat while sedentary or not doing any exercise.
Don't be disappointed or discouraged just look at the different possibilities of why this could have happened and then you can learn from it in the following weeks to make sure you burn more fat.
