Hi everyone I'm new to the group.. About a year ago I was diagnosed with PMT and PMDD and the doc said that going on the pill might help. It's been great, however in a very short space of time I have gained nearly 2 stone and although my 'assets' have grown so to has my belly legs appetite and dress size. I hate the changing rooms and the last time I went shopping I was shocked that I just about fit into a size 14 (I've always been a 10 or 12 and even then thought i was big) I feel my metabolism slowed down too.

But I've decided to try and get back into shape for the end of the year. My goal is to try to lose 2 stone (I am about 11 and half) I will do this by the fasting diet 5:2 along with cutting my carb and fat intake and calorie counting also exercise. I just need to keep motivated please help 😍

Welcome hun, you have joined a very supportive forum. You have yourself sorted as to what you are going to do, good on you. Have a great first week. 😊

Hi Skinnymini. Good luck for your weight loss journey and getting back into your old clothes. Just wondering, have you thought about seeking advice about alternative contraception methods? It might be worth looking at the mirena coil instead, or I think you can get monthly injections. There may be something else that works just as well but without the weight gain side effect. However, your attitude is good - the pill may have caused the weight gain, but it's in your control to reverse it. Good luck with the 5:2 diet and introducing exercise. Maybe look at couch to 5k, that really made a difference for me :) We're all here to help and motivate, so keep posting!

Hi Skinnymini,

It's my first time on here too but it's brilliant already. Everyone is supportive and there are lots of useful tips that I'm just discovering so hopefully you'll find all the support and motivation you need.

As I've been told, post and keep posting and i'm sure you'll find that others are in the same position, and many can help out with difficulties or celebrate with you on those amazing milestones.

Sounds like you know what you'd like to do and how to go about it so good luck! Have a good week.
