What shall I have for dinner? I will be out to around 7.30, so will need something quick and around 500-700 calories, any ideas? Xx

Hi Hannalou- how about having the same supper as me. An omelette - cooked as carefully as possible. Huge green salad with sweated onions and paprika. About 40g (dry weight) of whole grain rice or -if I am back and too hungry to wait - toast made with whole grain bread. If still hungry yogurt for pudding.

Hi Hannah, If I am stretched for time and choice I head for M&S - get one of their Balanced for you??? meals or one of their calorie counted ones. I know that ready meals are not the greatest, but hey its M&S! What I like about them is they are a bit more complicated than I'd do for myself, there is a good race and the calories are on them! They aren't too expensive either (£4-00) They are also only a couple of minutes in the microwave.

Failing that, Gonti is on the right track with an omelette & the green salad is always a good bet. Personally I'd pile on the salad more than choose the carbs but thats just a personal preference.

For tonight I've got a chicken breast cooked in Tomatoes & Basil - did two yesterday - one for tonight one for tomorrow.

I've also always got a big tub of plain, low fat natural yogurt in the fridge. (Ive got a yogurt maker - £8-00 from eBay!) Its a good staple which you can fill up on and isn't too calorific. Good with strawberries which are high Gi & Low Carb.

Its all about planning the choices we would have previously made without as much thought! Its a pain isn't it!

Let us know how you get on!

I like this one - super simple- Spicy Chicken Breasts.

Of course you may not have the different spices but its simply spices and the chicken, a zap in a frypan and if you like something a little spicy and chili this is delish. I have it with mashed sweet potato with a bit of ginger in it and some microwaved peas and it runs about 450 cals total.

Beat the chicken so its a uniform thickness and cooks a little quicker.

I love this recipe.

As a side...which is huge...cut a butternut squash in half. Brush with garlic and lemon juice. Roast with Mediterranean veg ( I spray with spray olive oil ..don't like the 1 cals sprays) if you eat meat you could roast a chicken Brest in foil at same time....easy
