Two weeks and I've burnt off HALF A STONE!!!! I know, I'm shouting but I'm a bit pleased with this. Used up a whole pound of unwanted fat this week.....remember I said that there's no way this is coming back so I've not 'lost it' cos I don't want to find it again! With bbq's and birthdays, I'm a bit smiley. A pound is great...that's my new mindset.
This is my new life and using up this stored energy is amazing.
Last night, instead of climbing into PJs and eating in front of the telly, I got a friend to come over and walk up the hill with me....well, after the hill we continued to walk for about an hour. (After the hill, my body feels great and I'm flushed for about fifteen mins after without having to hike. Lovely feeling.)
Then we stopped off at a friends house, sat in the garden and watched the sun setting....it was glorious. I am choosing to live a life that is glorious instead of watching telly in my pjs eating whatever is in the fridge. It makes me wonder why I even think this needs to be a choice...on paper it looks like a no brainer.
But of course it's not.
Everyday I have to make conscious choices to eat healthy and sensibly, do some exercise and be inspired by you wonderful bloggers.
Thank you all for your support.....you're all stars in my eyes!

A pound is a pound and that's a good healthy weight loss. So a big well done to you on that front, you should be proud and rightly so!!
There is a Kate Bush song with a line "I'm running up that hill" and I know for sure that before long that's what you are going to be doing with that hill that you walked last night.
I'm trying my best to get control of my life/eating but it's so hard with the stress I'm having at work but reading your posts has given me some extra incentive and I'm sticking at it.
Thanks Chris...you're lovely. One day at a time. Easier that way...as for running up that hill....I've managed tho get up very slowly without stopping so perhaps I need to time myself to show progress.
Now this stress business is no good for you and so glad you've got a plan. I read that stress leads to tummy fat (along with lack of sleep....which defines stress in some ways. ) So take care of you!
That's flipping brilliant, well done to you. Nothing nicer than a walk to make you feel on top of the world. Another pound gone and that bit nearer to your target, you should be shouting. Woohoo I'm going to shout with you !!!!!!!!
I'm off to the beach this morning for a walk with my eldest daughter blow the cobwebs away and always make me feel everything is all right with the world.
Hope you're week continues to feel as positive, you are an inspiration.
What a lovely post - well done for doing so well the first couple of weeks. It's a really good incentive to keep going isn't it ?
The walk sounds great as well - I've just been for my 2nd C25K run/walk along the seafront, and I've got a similar feeling - so glad that I got up and did something, and actually enjoying it.
Yeah! Thank you Carole....will put it on the fridge!
Hey hun, superb effort. Weightloss, walking, socialising.... A heck of a lot to shout about in my book. Life can be amazing if we could just see past our own buffers as you are finding. You are not complacent and know that effort is required too. The best of life is earned and deserved, you have truly earned the best this week. ππ
Hey Portland Princess, congrats on excellent weight loss, great progress. You're right about needing to consciously do what we feel we want to be doing, I also want to be out and about more but so often end up on the couch instead. This has definitely changed a lot, but it's still a work in progress! Keep consciously making those changes, and have a great week
Thank you Ruth, your an amazing role model...It is weird that we know we love the feeling of doing something healthy....but sometimes just don't do it!
A lot of it is down to creating new habits. Also, if you have friends you can summon to come over and take you out for an evening stroll, then that helps too
I know I go on about it but I love this forum....keeps me out of mischief!...and went up the hill tonight too. Have swollen ankles though. Now that's not usual for me. I read your post suggesting more water so will try that tomorrow
Be careful. Dave 1961 did his knee in from upping his exercise too quickly. Hope your ankles go back to normal soon, maybe alternate rest days might be in order, that was what we were advised when starting out on couch to 5k. Or maybe it's water, but either way, hope it goes down soon!
