Hello. I am happy to say that I have lost 1.5lbs last week. I am feeling really motivated. The weighing scales have always been the "enemy" to me. I find that the scales move slow. While dress sizes can be dropped quicker. So I was told by my doctor to not weigh but go by my clothes. Thats fine but I found that even after going from a size 24 to a 20, the weighing scale had not made a drastic movement (to me at least) in line with my dress size.

But I am giving it one more try and see what happens. And so the journey begins..... :)

Congrats on losing 1.5lb! I find having a few different ways of measuring the progress helps. Having clothes in the next size down lined up ready to try on, as well as checking measurements e.g. waist, hips, legs etc. People photograph themselves at different points along the way too. Personally, I've noticed shoes fitting better. There are loads of ways to tell the change, the point is to have a full 'before picture' of everything - measurements, weight, photo, mood diary etc, that you can refer back to. My personal high point was seeing the nurse and being told my blood pressure was in the healthy range again - that was definitely progress. Good luck for the journey ahead :)

Keep the faith, every time I have lost a dress size it has been almost better than losing the weight. It has taken me one more step to that so called off the peg normal dress size (not sure what is normal)!!!!!!!

Keep going on this wonderful journey and enjoy getting to know the new you.

Have a great week.

Thats the way to do it! Every pound lost is another step closer. And they all matter. Ruth is right on with her advice - all measurements matter. I had to get a much more accurate set of scales and I can see very quickly when I loose weight.

I fiind that the better feedback I get the more motivated I am. So I keep records: I record weight, waist, calories burned, exercise activity and I can see how it fits together. I might not loose a lot of weight one week but I know I've lost of my waist at the same time.

Keep on doing what your doing and enjoy the results!

Thank you andrewleeone. This is exactly the motivation I need. So I will continue and I will get over my dislike of scales. I have decided to weigh once a month instead :)
