Smug mog bragging...

Not sure quite how I'm managing this but I am only weighing myself every 3 weeks. Howzat for willpower/self-restraint/maturity? Blooming unheard of in the past when I would feverishly teeter on the scales more or less every morning. #LaidBackDude #SlowLearner ;)

Well done... i'm on them everyday

do you find its easier staying on track? have you managed to loose more weight that way?

in reply to Jinty60

I think it depends on how much you have to lose. If it's shed-loads then pace yourself - unless hopping on and off counts as exercise! Weight fluctuates naturally from day to day and week to week anyway so it isn't always an accurate recording of loss. I prefer to look at the trend and this is more difficult if weighing every day. I lost 6.5lbs in the first three weeks, and I am now just entering week six so I shall be weighing myself next Monday morning :S Help! If your system works for you then stick with it.

I weigh myself first thing every morning and in fact probability jump on and off 2 or 3 times, before I get dressed, to see if there is any change. I now this is pointless but seem to be quite fixated on keep checking. I recognise that I need to change to say once a week but I don't think I'd every be able to go 3 weeks, as you do, while I'm still trying to lose weight. I have so far lost over 7st and think I am worried in changing anything in my routine. How did you get your mind set to letting you be so relaxed in weighing yourself?

in reply to Ros1

Ha-ha! Exactly - fixation is the word and one I don't want to be friends with. BUT... you've lost 7 stone so who's to say fixation doesn't work? I have 7 stone to lose but I prefer to embrace determined. I'm 58 so perhaps I just don't have that sort of energy any more... ;)

Well I'm 62 but maybe it's the weight off that is giving me the extra energy!

I started my weight lost 1 June. Im a calorie counter so told myself I weigh my food so I dont need to weigh me every day. Im going to wait until 30th June to weigh myself again. This is a life change for me not a diet every day for life. I put on the weigh slowly so Im going to try to resist the Im a failure because I didnt lose weight today by only weighing myself once a month. If it goes down good, if not, Im healthier because Im exercising more.

in reply to kate2604

Yep, same here Kate. Thing is, once you start calorie counting it's for life - a habit that stays with you! I feel so much better now than I did 6 weeks ago - lots of exercise. How did it all go on? 5'8" and 9 stone to 16st 5.75lbs. All I do know is that I am finding out who I am and what I want out of life. Got to be a good thing, albeit a bit late! All the best with your new way of life! :D

Such willpower :) I'm a every couple of days weigher. I only record once a week (Friday) but tend to be a bit more relaxed at the weekend so I like to check in on a Monday to see if my weekend has caused any increase - pointless really as I pretty much stick to the same foods etc all week but these little foibles are what make us human - or feline :)

in reply to sueper

From your posts you're doing fine, Sueper. It's working and healthy and balanced - good changes in the mind and body. Keep up the good work! :D

Well done. Think I may take a leaf out of your book!😉

Do what works for you (and you are!); I just think perspective is important - fixation can lead to pitch and toss and this I do not need! Onwards and downwards! :D

Such good will power. If I did that then I would be even more pleased with my progress as I have lost every week barring one on this journey. I just like to see how I have done at the end of the week on a Sat, that way I know I am making good progress.

in reply to trafford1

Don't know where it's come from, Traff! But imagine having lost nothing after another 3 weeks.. Noooooo! Howsumever, even if this is the case, it ain't gonna stop me. Stay stubborn! :D
