Depends on your current weight and how active you are. Also not an expert but I did read that if you go less than 50% of what you need then your body starts to rebel.

Are you loosing weight then probably doing OK. As you get nearer your goal then you will need to adapt.

I have my fitness pal app on my phone. If you enter your details it tells you how many calories you should be eating. You can add meal by meal what you are eating and it totals it for the day. Also you can add any exercise so that adjusts your calories amount.

When I started with nhs weight loss I enterted my BMI and was give my recommended total daily calory amount to follow. I use the calory counter site to check how many calories there are in everything I eat but most products have the KCals marked on the packing. I just add everthing up at the end of the day and I have quickly learnt just how bad snacking on favourite nibbles can be. It can be a bit time consuming at first but the result is very rewarding. Hope this helps.
