Firstly congratulations! And secondly I wouldn't worry too much about it asyou don't know how you'll react during your pregnancy. Try and eat healthy for the sake if your baby but I wouldn't feel overly guilty if you have cravings for food you don't think you should have. Enjoy it, walk as much as possible and concentrate on getting really healthy after the baby is here!

Congratss on the littl'un!

Have you tried drinking a glass of cool water before meals, not only is it really good to keep you and your unborn hydrated, it will also makes you feel that little bit fuller before having a meal!

Congratulations ! As others have said, the main thing is to eat healthily as much as you can and not in excess. If your unlucky enough to experience nausea/vomiting early on,you may lose weight to begin with.I know a few friends that did Slimming World, while pregnant and lost weight slowly and there was no harm to baby. But do enjoy being pregnant and not worrying too much about your weight. All the best.

Your new bump doesn't need extra food!!! It's really hard to shift excess weight if you overeat now so every time you 'eat for two' remember you have to work really hard afterwards and when you are tired it's hard to get exercising and eat smaller portions of healthy food when you need quick boosts of energy! Have an item of clothing out as a reminder and prompt to keep on track!!!

Did the information about the weight loss support say that they couldn't help you if you were pregnant? If not, maybe it would be worth reinstating that appointment. Whilst 'dieting' is not a great idea whilst pregnant (and for most of us just isn't a good idea anyway), it is often a time when it is easier to make positive life changes - there's no better motivation!

Congratulations!

I agree that eating healthily is the best step to take - it might be worth keeping an eye on your calorie intake. You shouldn't be eating over 2300 calories a day - remember that your baby only requires you to consume an extra 300 calories a day which is the equivalent to a glass of milk, eating for two is a myth! If you can avoid high fat/high sugar foods and eat plenty of fruit and veg without starving yourself it will be a great kick start to weight loss once the baby comes.

Good Luck!
