What do you think about weighing yourself daily???.....

Hi,

I know this may sound weird but I weigh myself daily, first thing in the morning. I only record my weight on a Friday each week, and I do understand about flatuations of weight and know that different days will show different readings, especially around the monthly cycle. So I don't freak out about it. Just on the Fridays with my true reading. Does anyone else weigh theirselves daily???.....

I do. If I start creeping up then I am better behaved for the rest of the week. If I start going down I feel pleased and determined not to ruin it.

I weigh myself everyday now and I don't panic too much to be honest but now I'm probably going to weigh myself every 1-2 days because I have started the 12 week diet plan

i don't weigh every day, but most days. It's good to know how the body responds to different foods and to different degrees of hydration. Water makes a huge difference - up to 5-6 pounds for me. No wonder peoples weight goes up and down for no apparent reason. The error in weighing is about twice the amount we can lose in a week.

Thanks rmnsuk, it's sometimes comforting to see things heading in the right direction x

I normally weigh in weekly but last week or so been plateauing and struggling so going to weigh in extra to make sure im still on track. I think its a personal choice really and if you are using the same friday weigh in as your proper weigh in and it keeps you on track then go for it

I'm weigh myself everyday too and record my weight first thing every morning before I eat or drink anything. I need to know whatever I am doing is going in the right direction if that makes sense. It's good to know I am not the only one who does this. I too appreciate weight can fluctuate for a variety of reasons.

Hi

Lots of article advise not to weigh your self daily , course if you're doing everything right , working out often , eating clean ...still u don't see any changes in your weight ...this might course you stress then there're chances you might wanna give up .For me this is also the only reason i don't weigh daily ..i check my weight every 10 days ..

Other then this it is fine to weigh daily =)

Hi, I weigh myself probably 3-4 times a week, always in the morning after going to the toilet (:-)) , and then at the end of that diet 'week' I take the lowest weight from the 3-4 measurements to work out how much weight I've 'lost' that week. I think your weight 'wobbles' quite a bit on a day-to-day basis, and think this fluctuation is due to how much water you're retaining. I wanted to avoid getting demotivated by thinking I hadn't lost much if only weighing once a week, when in reality I probably just had a bit too much water retention on the weigh-in day! I'm being good and counting calories etc. so I think this is okay, as long as the general trend week-to-week is downwards! I think whatever works and keeps you on track, we're all a bit diffrent hey?
