Started on Thursday

Well I started my 12 weeks on Thursday and am embarrassed to say that I have gone over my calorie allowance on 2 of 4 days.

It's always the same Friday night end of week celebration followed by Saturday recovery.

Feeling very disheartened already.

Well, it's good that you know what days are your difficult days and learn to deal with them. Maybe you can cut off some of your intake and devote more time to your exercise routine those days. Good luck!

Don't be too hard on yourself and just learn from it. At least you dieted for 4 days as you would have had a lot more calories if you hadn't started. What day do you weigh yourself? My weigh in is on a Friday now and it encourages me to be good for the weekend. Just keep positive and you will get there!

I'm going to weigh myself every Thursday.

I also tried to do 10mins of exercise I can't go to the gym so I

decided to just start walking up and down the stairs for 10mins each day. Needless to say I only managed 6mins.

But I guess it's still 6mins more than 0mins.

I usually have Friday night as treat night so weigh on Friday mornings, gives you the whole week to work it off etc.:)

Ho ho, don't worry about it. It is done. Start again and because you know about it, you can avoid it. Remember YOU are in control.

It sounds to me that you'd do better on the 5:2 Diet. Life is for living, not watching calories every day of the week. Just fast (up to 500 calories) on two non-consecutive days a week, and try to stay under your TDEE the rest of the week. You can work that out here thefastdiet.co.uk/how-many-.... If yours works out at more than 2000 then aim at 2000 on non-fasting days.

I don't want to sound like a moaning minney. I tend to get overwhelmed quiet easy. I had thought of the 5:2 as with the kids having to work out calories to everything is a nightmare. I already panicked about whatbis would eat on a fast day. I know it's sad right.

Hi Sheufuh - don't give up slowly does it🐢🐢🐢 IT takes time to organise your meal plans and calorie counting especially when you have a family to consider and we all have bad days. Sit down take a deep breath and make a meal plan for the next few days. Don't worry if you go over your allowance for a day, that is in the past aim for less the next. Drink plenty of water it really helps. I write down everything I eat in my food diary on the "My Fitness Pal" ap it keeps a check on the amount of calories I consume and what I have left which is very handy.

Good luck for this week and remember the slower you loose your excess weight the more likely it is to stay off, you didn't put it all on in a week so you can't expect to loose it all in a week. So don't loose heart we are here to support you.

Don't beat yourself up to much, you only had 1 day to get used to your change of lifestyle, this weekend will be different because you've had longer to get used to it & you'll be more prepared. Good luck.
