Feeling really rubbish at the moment as I can't seem to keep control in the evenings. I go fine during the day, eating well and keeping to my limit and then when I get home and after dinner, I can't stop myself from eating and ruining my effort. Needless to say, I'm not losing any of the half stone I need to and am feeling really rubbish with a ball in three and half weeks.. is it still possible to lose it??? help!!

Feeling low...
You say that you are controlling your calories, but we also need to understand our body reacts in different ways to different foods. Try eating more protein, especially at dinner time, and avoid sugar and carbs. Sugar and carbs fill you up quickly but after two hours they lead to a false feeling of hunger. Drink herbal teas instead of binging, there are many flavours nowadays!
What protein would you recommend as I'm a very carby person and I know that but I don't eat meat.
I'm not a great cook, so my ideas are quite simple: Avocados (half an avocado) are great with some olive oil and a pinch of salt. Baked beans are also a great protein source. Poached/boiled eggs on a piece of toast. Obviously fish (grilled, boiled, roasted). I also love my carbs, but to lose weight we need to eat less of them (ideally no more than two dishes of rice/pasta per week).
Hope that helped!
Evenings are my worst time too ... Try and drink a glass of water first and then make yourself 'decide' whether you really 'need' something to eat ... Have something ready prepared (carrot sticks/ peppers) to munch on ... Good luck!
Exactly my problem too. During the day is fine but evenings are the carby times
It's nice to feel there are others! I think it's because I have work during the day to keep my mind and body occupied but when I'm tired and at home (and we have a through kitchen/lounge/diner) it's so hard! I end up having lots of cereal and toast and then feel guilty...I'm going to try having carrots/celery in the fridge to munch on? What can we do?
x
Thanks 😄
Ofcourse! I read somewhere that one of the most important dietskills is getting back on track after a slip
YES!! it is possible, you can do this, make the decision now as it's your choice, you owe it to yourself to lose a few pounds and treat yourself to a lovely new outfit for the Ball...come on..lets get a grip, find a bit of determination....summer is on the way....not easy....believe me i'm feeling worse than you....but told myself in the mirror this morning that i'm worth it. not just a wife & mum & carer putting everyone else first, from now on it's about me too.....made myself a camomile tea with cinnamon...and i'm off! good luck...lets just do it!....
Keep busy in the early evening. Break the habit. Get the fridge cleaned out or the bathroom. Rearrange your wardrobe and have a clear out for charity. Go out for a walk. DON'T sit and watch telly!
