Just had my end of week 2 weigh in and I've lost 3/4lb. Had hoped for 1lb but at least it's in the rightnibblingrection, which is downwards. Not bad really considering I'm not able to exercise.
I've heard so much about the Myfitnesspal app that I've downloaded it to my tablet. I know the exercise part won't be any use to me but the calorie part will. Perhaps that will help me lose more weight. It says stay within 1210 calories which seems a bit low to me. The NHS weight loss site says to have between 1375 -1768 kcal for my height, weight and age. I'll try to get somewhere between the 1210 and 1375 calories and see what happens. I don't want to send my metabolism into famine mode so that everything I eat turns to fat.
I find the portion sizes a bit big on the Myfitnesspal is there any way to alter them?
To stop me nibbling in an afternoon I've made a small fresh fruit salad and I'm just about to start cross stitching a birthday card for someone we know who is 80 next month.
Here's to a better result next week.

Just noticed that my keyboard has put a strange word into the first paragraph. It was supposed to be right direction. Is there anyway to alter these mistakes?
Well done on your result! I hope you will enjoy working with MFP. You can also log in to it on your computer (go to myfitnesspall.com and log in with your details. It will have the same information you have on the tablet.) I find it easier to enter eg recipes on the PC. Also, under "Goals" you can set your own calories (I changed them to 1400 as per NHS plan). Apart from calories, it also helps track macronutrients (carbs, protein and fat), sugar, fibre and some minerals/vitamins.
