Walking..

As part of my commitment to shift this weight I've decided to exercise for an hour each day, alternating between swimming my 50 lengths and walking as few k, as briskly as I comfortably can without being completely out of breath! Just back in from a 5k over the hills to the next village and back - it rained, it hailed, it snowed for a moment, the sky was black as night, then the sun came out and I was so warm had to take my fleece off. No wonder we never know what to take with us on a day out!! :-) Still - according to my app that's just over 400 calories burnt, so that'll do for me x

I'm sure it's only in the UK we can have all four seasons in one day.

Unless Mrs FatbellyGutbucket and I go for a walk at the weekend my next walk will be to a nearby village to pick up my BP meds. I've not done that walk before so it should be interesting. Not as hilly as my usual monthly trek into a nearby town. Also (I hope) not as muddy...

Once you get used to the idea that it's definitely going to rain (unless you remembered to take your waterproofs) and will be freezing on the hills (unless you remembered a jumper) you can't beat the UK for walking. Especially North Yorkshire.

Been a long time since I walked there, though. Is the Lyke Wake still going?

I'd not heard of it so googled it and seems so, yes. Although not today, too windy!! :-)

That's excellent! The best thing I ever did was to buy a little Fitbit Zip as that motivates me to walk 10,000 steps a day which is around five miles. Last year I walked (or ran) over 1800 miles!

Now don't eat back the calories you burned!

No danger of that gingernut :-) .. too much motivation this time! Nothing like the term morbidly obese to wake you up to yourself. And the 'before' pics I took on my phone earlier to look at when I find myself outside the chippy!! x
