Hi frankishandy,

To be honest if you only drink twice a month then whenever you drink isn't going to make any difference to your diet. I have been dieting for 5 months and I have "free days" about 3 or 4 times a month when I can eat and drink anything I want and I have continued to lose weight. The important thing is to go straight back on your diet after your free days and not be tempted to carry on eating and drinking as you did prior to your diet, as it can be really easy to fall back into old patterns.

So I say have your free days, you need them if you are committed to losing weight as dieting can be a long hard struggle and I have found personally that a few treats a month makes the rest of the diet bearable.

Good luck.

Generally spirits with diet mixer are best, things like vodka and diet coke. I'd be careful though, get drunk enough and the "sod it, I'll get a kebab" voice might get more convincing haha

You probably have bigger health risks in the short term from binge drinking than from being overweight....

Drink whatever you really enjoy for the taste, you'll probably have less of it.

I am not sure how much 'all out' is for you ,,, But 3 glasses of dry white wine would set you back about 360 calories—not too bad I suppose,

Alcohol with weight loss is difficult, and the type and quantity you can consume will depend a lot on how you're dieting.

Purely for information fermented drinks will always have some sugar in them left over from the fermentation process, how much varies wildly on the type of drink, distilled drinks though have no carbs in them, although to confuse the issue ethyl (Alcohol) is chemically a carbohydrate, nutritionally it's not, so good news if you are low carbing, you can enjoy a vodka or whatever your poison is, as long as it's straight.

Not what you're looking for?
