Hi All.

I need to lose about 3 stone mainly for my holiday in June but I also want this to be a permanent lifestyle change for me. All I want is to be healthy and risk free from any illnesses that come with being overweight.

My job roll mainly consists with me sitting at me desk for 40 + hours a week and I must admit I'm not very active when I return home from a busy day in the office! The weekends are a major challenge with me also, especially my fiancé who seems to be able to eat what he wants, when he wants and not put on a ounce of weight!

So really, what I am trying to say is if any of you have any tips or advice, please let me know as it will be greatly appreciated and I promise it won't fall on deaf ears! I'm really ready to start a new healthy chapter in my life and be the best I can possibly be.

Thanks you :-)

Hey,

I am also struggling, do you go to the gym? Maybe you and your partner could join one? Or swimming?

I have just made my own cereal bars which are under 100 calories and these fill me up.

once you get into a routine of going tot he gym on the weekends you can maybe even fit in a few evening classes after work :)

Talk soon x

Hi. I've lost 2 stone in 2 months and what I've found is planning my meals. Getting lunch prepared and knowing what I'm having for tea. Making things from scratch is so much cheaper and easy

Don't eat at your desk. Get up, move away, walk around. When you eat, always eat at a table. Eat proper meals, slowly, stop when you've had enough. Don't eat snacks.

You are right about the health risks. A lot is being written now about the prevalence of Type II diabetes. This is obvious, when you think about the huge amounts of 'snacky' foods available, sweet things eaten throughout the daylight hours, all of which cause the pancreas to produce more insulin, which stores fat. The poor old pancreas never gets a rest and has to work overtime, far more than we were programmed to do from an evolutionary standpoint, and no surprise if it eventually slows down or stops working at a much earlier age than might be expected.

Not what you're looking for?
