Dear Fitzgeme,

Dont beat yourself up about it. Im sorry you had a bad week! I have a bad week I will often binge on chocolate and sweets and anything I can find my hands on. I grew up in a home where food was at the centre of everything. If I had a bad day, I was given sweets to feel better...if my family members had a bad they, they would also just turn to food. Its very hard to break this cycle...believe me, I am still trying...that is why my name on here is yoyo-nono! Because my weight goes up and down like a yoyo! For me it helps not to think of this weight loss experience as a programme with a start, middle or end...but as a journey...a way of life. So, you had a bad week...its not the end of the world! You do not 'fail' if you don't give up. Keep your eye on the bigger picture...If you eat healthily most other weeks of the year, what is one or even six weeks in 52? Have a strategy for next time things go down the pan...instead of turning to food try doing some exercise...talk to someone...binge on carrots...whatever! If you can only change a little part of your normal behaviour under stress situations when they occur again in the future then you have already done better...and if you keep at it you will manage to overcome the urge to turn to food when things go bad. But it takes practise. Rome was not built in a day...and from my own experience I can tell you that it will take many tries and fails to get it right. So, I hope you wont give up, because, I am sure that I most likely will have a bad week in the future too and then I hope that I can count on you to give me some support so that I will not give up fighting the good fight.

You did not fail, because you are on here, posting about your experience! That in itself is commendable. Hope this week goes better! Good luck.

Thank you so much for the lovely reply. Have had a better week! Ran around the lake with the dog without stopping. Also went to a spin class yesterday so that's 2 bits of exercise but still no weight loss. Have been 'better' on the food and had 'light' sandwiches around 250 cals for lunch and not much for dinner. Missed spinning today as very busy at work so will have to do 'something' tonight ... I need to see some weight loss to keep going though .. even a pound would do! Thanks again.

Its not starting again! just carry on you know what you have to do stay calm eat lots of good healthy food. When I have a bad day(I have plenty of those) I reach for a 2 finger KitKat 107 cal but it makes me feel better and much better than a packet of biscuits that was my usual. I find it very hard not to get depressed when I lose nothing but I know I have to get control no one can do it for me, so I'm getting on with it, smaller portions no sweet stuff we can do it.x
