At the moment I am on the slimfast shakes for breakfast and lunch and then a balanced dinner and I am using my fitness pal for calorie counting I am just looking at the 12 week plan. Anyone know of any foods that up your metabolism?

Hi Gemgem3383,
I'd just proffer a word of caution. Basically, the journey from being an overweight person to a normal weight one really involves some changes. These are mainly about changes in eating habits and changes in activity / exercise levels. Though it really also involves some changes in attitudes to eating / food / nutrition and perhaps some other things too.
The point I would make is that you probably want to aim at getting yourself into sensible healthy eating habits, as opposed to the ones that have caused you to be overweight.
The question I have is that if you use slimfast shakes, or indeed any of a load of other "diet" type products, then what happens at the end of the 12 weeks / when you reach your target weight / at the end of the process? Do you just end up consuming those same shakes for the rest of your life?
Now, I'm not saying to not have them. In fact, if they help to kick-start you towards new and better eating habits, or ease the process of leaving your old ones behind, then that's fine.
Just try not to end up using these products to avoid actually getting into good eating habits of eating sensibly-sized portions of nutritious healthy food.
Good luck with your weight loss journey.
Sorry I don't think any foods increase metabolism. You can up your metabolism by doing more exercise and generally being more active in day to day life (e.g. take the stairs not the lift, walk instead of getting the bus).
I 100% agree with Doikosp that it is not necessary to use slimfast shakes. If you are finding that difficult to stick to, the it is actually relatively easy to eat "normal" food and still lose weight. The NHS web pages have loads of advice to get you started:
