Good Luck! We all have bad weeks and it can be difficult to get back on track but I'm sure you will be fine.

Valentines...over eat...too. dont worry to much ...I think we all did ....

Booster8joanna,

I know this isn't necessarily very easy - especially for some personality types - but being 'apprehensive' about weight loss usually doesn't help very much.

Try not to take it all toooooo seriously, just deal with it like something really ordinary and pragmatic like, brushing your teeth, or getting the bus into work. Yeah, for sure, you need to do it the right way - or you'll miss the bus - but try not to make a drama out of doing it.

In the final analysis, though it does take a bit of effort to go from "bad" eating habits to "good" ones, it's only food. And people have been eating food all their lives for as long as there have been people. (And that's a flippin' long time!)

Also, anxiety can have an effect upon your hormones that might increase your fat storage and reduce your fat burning.

Yes, you're well advised to take the weight and eating thing seriously, but perhaps in more of a head-job way, and perhaps in less of a heart-job, 'emotionally involved' sort of way.

Or to put it another way, keep cool about it all, and just get on with it. If you can take that sort of an approach - some will find that easier than others - you'll probably find it both less hard work and more effective.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Hi there

Thanks for your reply,it was interesting for me,unfortunately I have suffered with anxiety for the past six years and I have good times and bad times,it's interesting what you say about the fat storage though, saying that I have been on a diet since I was about ten years old as I was very big as a child,I was under supervision from the doctor but managed to shift most of it with help from my parents.glad to say I lost nearly six pounds this week after being strict with myself but it's my birthday at weekend and I intend to take your advice and enjoy myself, have little treats, and chill out, thanks for your good advice, hope everything goes well for you xx

That's fantastic - well done! :)

It's so lovely to have a group of people who are supporting you through your journey who have been there themselves!

Good luck and keep me posted on your progress :)

If you haven't lost much/anything this week and you know why - just draw a line under it and keep going. Beating yourself up about what you have or haven't eaten is no way to live.

If we are trying to lose weight we'd all like it to happen regularly and in large amounts - it doesn't work like that.

It's more of a marathon than a sprint and we just have to keep slogging on.

xx

Hi there

Thanks for your reply,I know what you're saying is definitely true about losing little and often being the best way forward, that's why I chose to not go to a slimming club this time as there was always so much pressure when I used to go and I used to get myself in a state about it,on here everybody is very supportive and I feel I get good nutritional advice,in the end I lost nearly six pounds this week so I'm over the moon! Xx
