Finally got a loss to record this week, woohoo! 2 lb loss, bringing me a step closer to that magical BMI 30. After several weeks of my weight stubbornly refusing to change, it feels great to have something positive to report. Just 2.5lb to go until I'm merely 'overweight'.
Hey, I know that feeling. Had a look at the more accurate Telegraph BMI calculator which put me on top of overweight. Nothing like the label Obese to make you feel good about yourself... Wheyhey!! Well done!
Sorry could not resist the whey hey! Remark made me laugh and actually made me feel better yes I registered as obese for the first time ever but this remark cheered me up I am going to lose the weight and mot give up!
It does feel great when you go from being to obese to 'just' overweight. THis happened to me about two weekends ago. Now my goal is to get below BMI25.
I'm out of kilter with you all. This is my week 2. In 2 weeks I've lost 12.9 pounds/5.7kgs (to lose in total 3 st/20 kgs) and 5 cms off my waist. In week 2, I haven't lost much weight but have lost girth so measuring both is good.
Ok, was hoping to have lost more by now, but life sometimes gets in the way. I have managed to loose another 1.5lb this week, so now 13.stone 8.5lb. Lost 2 inches around my stomach and thats whats keeping me going. Im determined to get to a stone and finally for the bmi calculator to tell me im no longer obese! Im enjoying the healthy eating and im including more vegetables in my diet.
I lost 0.8Kg this week, which means a total so far of 2.9 Kg, averaging t about 400g per week, which I am quite pleased with. I can't say why this week I've lost 800g and another week I gained 200g, but that is how it is!!! Just another 16.7 Kg to go... I'll celebrate at 30 BMI, but that is still a little while away. My goals for this week are the same as last week - to the gym three times, plan what I eat, stay within 1400 calories per day.
Down a pound this week. Happy with that. Plan on doing this very slowly and dont see it as a diet but a permanent lifestyle change. Ran further this week, generally kept to a good level of nutrition and hoping to continue with the jogging. Pretty much same plan as mld78. Exercise 3 times a min, plan what I eat and restrict to a daily allowance. Eventually fat will go when its realised my mind has moved on! Struggle most when tired and stressed, but am so conscious of abusing food. Good luck to all on the week ahead.
Congrats on the loss. Have you been running for long? I'm currently running 4 times a week, using the Jantastic challenge to motivate me. Nearly didn't make it last week, but ended up doing all four runs between Friday and Sunday evenings! Exercise seems to be a good way to ditract myself from food.
Thanks. U2. Have a bad back so range from 3 to 4 times a week. Varying from jogging to walking uphill. Doing the C25K plan and on wk 7. Was my bad back that got me started again as had enough of the pain. Years ago was able to run 10k in ~50mins. But was 3 stone lighter. If I don't exercise, I eat... proved by the fact that a ligament injury left me unable to run and I put 4 stone on over 3 years. How do you manage to do that many runs in 3 days?! I have to have a rest day between each run!
I did 6.6k (4.1m) on Friday then 2 miles on Saturday and 2 very short runs (1.27m & 1m) on Sunday, having not run since the previous Sunday. I was a bit down at the start of the week then found my mojo again, thankfully. I couldn't have done it when I first started c25k, but I guess my body's got used to running now. I could barely run for 1 minute when I started! I did find that having had a few days rest beforehand, it was a bit easier on Friday than the previous week.
I too have back problems, and knees and feet (plantar facitiitis). I think the first two have been helped by running, or at least by losing weight - 32lb since I first started. I can't imagine running 10k in 50 mins. It takes me nearly 40 mins to run 5k! I am working up towards being able to run 10k. My long run target for this week is 7k. I aim to do one long run, two 5k runs (except last week!) and one short, run with max effort (eg. speed or hill work). When I hurt my knees a few years ago is when I started piling on the weight (I used to cycle regularly before that) and became less and less active.
Hi all - stuck at 80kilos for the 3rd week - first week I expected it as I had quite a lot of social stuff going on, that was fine. Second week I really tried hard and couldn't understand why no Weightloss. Third week I was busy at work, fed up and everything went to pot. Completely fell of the wagon for a few days in terms of what I was eating and how much and not doing my usual exercise. Got a grip of myself on the weekend, so this week when it stayed the same I was actually pleased not to have put on. I'm back on it now and really hope to get under the 80 next week. People have started to notice my Weightloss so that is spurring me on a bit. Well done everyone who lost this week and good luck to you all.
I got under 80 about ten day ago, and I never want to see them again. Go for it. And then we can both celebrate! I got stuck at 80.2 then went up to 80.4, before returning to 80.2 again. Then the weight went to 79.6! I'm waiting for next week's report Jellymum. M.
Down 2 lbs this week to 150.8 - that's a 9 lb loss since I started so am v pleased! And the lightest I've been in 3 years. Like others am having some bad days but still putting everything on myfitnesspal so I can either catch up during the week or at least gain awareness of how easy it is to go waaaaaay over a sensible daily allowance. My goal for the 12 weeks was a stone loss so am still hoping to achieve that by end March. Well done everyone and hope this week goes well for you...
Thought this might be the best way of tracking my weight since I actually put on weight in the half term holiday. Holidays are a nightmare the cupboard calls to me!
I know eating in excess puts on weight so why do I do it ! Because the food is yummy no I am not depressed just greedy. In our crowd of friends I was one of the skinniest, whilst the others have lost weight now I am gradually getting bigger. This looks like a great site to motivate me seems as though I have found some like minded people. I will weigh in each week to see if this can motivate me. Thank you
Ignore that 'week 2' posting in week 7. No weight off this week but another notch smaller on the belt so the lard is being scalped from somewhere. You guys are right; obese is such an ugly word it's incentive enough to steer clear of the beer and crisps. Obese obese obese obese obese..."...and I'll have a sparkling mineral water, please Bert."
