Hi Purple ribbon, I have been wheat intolerant for ten years and am starting to think I might be sensitive to milk too. I have a thyroid condition and food intolerances are a common problem. I have only joined the community today and don't have any fab tips for you I'm afraid, but I think you've done brilliantly so far . Well done. Hopefully we can both do well and get fit for 2014!

Hi Purpleribbon

Well done on the weight loss so far.

I had to stop eating gluten about ten years ago. I have found that going low carb/high fat has worked best for me. I don't eat any supermarket gluten free foods because of artificial additives, and I don't eat low fat because of the added sugar. I'm ok with plain full fat yoghurt but not milk.

I have found this site very useful. authoritynutrition.com/low-...

In case you haven't found it already, there is a site for coeliacs on HU called Gluten Free Guerrillas.

Thank you will have a look at the web site later tonight

Hate allergies! They are an absolute pain especially when trying to diet. Have you looked at blogs? I have found some diet ones and also seasonal recipes here -talkhealthpartnership.com/b...

Not sure if you can find any which will suit your needs but sharing is helpin. Hope to have been useful.

Hiya,

Personally, protein based meals work better for me on diets and if I feel like something to bulk it out, the healthier options are boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes or squash and things like quinoa, which are gf. Another option I've found, is chestnuts (good for this time of year). When cooked and peeled, they are a nice snack or go well in salads, etc.

If you fancy a sweet treat, maybe try dried fruit. I really like the sticks of papaya for when I'm really craving.

Good luck!
