Do you find that you are more satiated with a higher protein breakfast for longer than on a wholegrain based breakfast?

I eat eggs for breakfast and my husband has porridge. Porridge leaves me with food cravings the rest of the morning.

I'm certainly uncomfortable with the usual weight loss programme pattern of a significantly lower calorie breakfast than other meals. And I simply can't eat a conventional 'cereal plus milk (any sort of milk' breakfast without being dysfunctional and ill by late morning - unless I have other things to eat for breakfast as well, which is obviously no good for weight loss. It's not about the calories. I do well on porridge however (just have to work on the portion size - Graze breakfast boxes have helped persuade me that that tiny quantity really can satisfy all morning)

I don't have the same breakfast day in day out.

I go for a protein breakfast every time. Eggs are very versatile. If I'm in a hurry it's plain probiotic yoghurt with some added fruit and nuts. All breakfast cereals give me a terrible 'carb crash' later in the morning.

It's not all about the calories, as GoogleMe has said. I find it better to have a good breakfast and a then a light lunch.

I agree with Penelope and have protein most days, usually toast with eggs, ham or peanut butter in my case. However, I've found that porridge is a lot better than cereal for keeping me full so I sometimes have that for a change. I really don't like cereal at all, it all seems to be tasteless or really sweet. But perhaps that is just me. :)

I also agree that good breakfast and light lunch works better.

I exercise every morning and find the best breakfast for me is 40g porridge with 120 ml milk plus 20g raisins. Keeps me full until lunch at 1 pm.

I have the same as Vonnyliz - although vary the fruit - but have more recently tried scrambled eggs with mushrooms and a ryvita, which I have found to be more filling. Perhaps just the change in regime - but I always thought it was good to have FRUIT first thing in the morning?!
